Status Quo
- a lot will not be ready for the vernissage, here is an update
PROCESS OF CREATING

Things I have come to peace with, will not be ready for the vernissage
The soundscape! 1) I am new with mixing and so this is an experiment. However, the main song is ready, same goes for the curated music and nature sounds. Stay tuned on the blog and I will share if I add an edited version or something new to the soundscape which will be online from 12th January, Bandcamp. 2) I don't have access to an equalizer in my free version of the music program and I will not be able to find a solution within two days. I can get help at Kofoeds School at the sound production class each Thursday, where I can get professional help and guidance
Paintings: I am painting new artwork, one is almost done but I don't feel the call or energy to make it done before the vernissage. Otherwise time will tell if my other paintings, prints and photos will be displayed
Surprise painting: I have been making an experiment since summer 2024, when I signing up for this exhibition. Whether the painting will be ready depends on some technical details depending on the weather and time, which is out of my control. No matter what - this will maybe be displayed some time in February so stay tuned on the blog for more news about this!
The guides for the installations might not be completely done, though I have someone working on the editing for my long texts
Light: The light is not my expertise and The Question whom helped along, might not have time later on to hang up more. The question regarding if we have time later on, remains unknown.
We spend more time than intended on making the fabric stick to the ceiling and as The Question also helps along with filming, this quickly became our first priority. In which I am deeply grateful for as well
Proper sound: I wanted a proper sound set-up as the one finished number for the soundscape "Inner Voice" is created is panned from right to left
Spelling mistakes: Junikon will look into spelling mistakes on the webpage - in which I keep changing. So this will be a things in constant process as well
Sound system for the vernissage: I had spend a month figuring out how to find a proper sound system as the soundscape, which is intented to play live at the vernissage only, is mixed in stereo with panning. Making the experience with a speaker two different places in the room, make the experience much more intense. But as the last week has been a tough one with planning, setting up etc. I had to realize that figuring out also how to put sound gear up, in which I had never done myself alone, would take to much time and effort, in which we did not have. So we decided to use a single boomblaster and let it be like this for now.
So what is ready for the vernissage?
Art: The most art has been hung up. I also managed to print out some photos, frame old aquarelles and display installations
Guest Book: I have found an old notebook from my childhood, in which I will display as a guest book
The Soundscape as it is for now, is up and running on Bandcamp where you can listen for free or donate to the project
The Opening Ritual has been tried out and all the props are found. I just need to visit the ocean Monday morning before going to the exhibition as this is part of the ritual. I will share more about this on the blog and here
The Fabric: I hope all the fabric still hang when I show up Monday. This has been the most time challenging task for this project during the preparing week!!!!! Before this I have spend six months looking at Kofoeds secondhand for proper fabric, not too light, not too heavy. Everything has been bought second hand as everything has been taken out of my private budget on a low income for this project. We then found out I didn't had enough fabric and so half of it has been borrowed by the textile department classes for Kofoeds School.
Proper tape and using plenty in order for the fabric to hang. I HOPE people will respect not to walk in between as this will save me and my helpers time with more hours of re-putting them up. I can share that 5hours of hanging up needed to be re-done the next day. Yes - proper tape is a thing and we had to try out several ones
Covering the extra length of the strings the hart hangs on. This might seem unimportant, but the aesthetics makes the difference.
Somehow, each new day the team and I returned to the room, the strings had magically found their way out of the tape and freed their long legs below the framesAccepting I cannot do all the things I could once
Or doing it the same way
But I can do something else, in other ways and these things I am truly grateful. Even if it means the team and I have had to compromise a lot. Change things in last minute.
This project as an ongoing process
Even though the vernissage is tomorrow a lot will not be ready
And this is fine
The project is an initiation to stay calm within the storm. Accepting that things might not be as intended but rather this than feeling obligated, stressful and getting a burnout. The intentions is for this to be exciting and joyful. Not to say we have not stressed. We have been absolutely exhausted already. But hopefully we have been able to take time off too. We have had to edit the plan and cancel a lot of ideas while navigating through all the unforeseen challenges & gifts
