Post Concussion Break
I am taking on my oxygen mask in order to come back and develop further on this project
”In order to help others you need to put on the oxygen mask on ourself first”
- My beloved grandmother
Like the Tide began as a project while recovering from trauma, celebrating my process and letting you into it. Suddenly it took form of a whole one-mans's exhibition to suddenly, being a project supported by almost twenty people around the globe. People whom helped me to set up the space, that suddenly turned into an opening/closing ritual, interactive art installations etc. It was for a fact a true proto-type of everything I had at heart I could try out and share with others whom felt like participating or visiting.
The exhibition January-March 2026 was made as a kind of landmark to look forward to, for me as to others around in the local area.
However, during the exhibition, halfway through to be exactly, I hit my head and gained a quite heavy concussion. I decided to step back and let other co-workers and friends take over by offering their workshops in the space as the officially idea was as well. But as it was time to take down the exhibition , I hit my head again. This time as the mark bench for a really bad hit. And the following weeks, three times more.
All in all by the end of March I had five concussions and decided to put things on a break. But at the same time I had to attend to some meetings I had waited for in a year and if I decided to postpone I might had to wait another. Since then, time has been fluid and from this Morning, I decided to take an official break. Just a break to heal/recover properly in order to come back and continue where I came from.
I have lots of ideas, but I need to make sure I can follow along, making sure these concussions heal properly. And by doing that I need to cut off all distractions which also means lots of time in nature, by the sea and in the forest to just sit and be.
The picture below is from a place I visited in April 2022 before entering the art studio, where this exhibition and project took form. 2 weeks before. The cat you might find some place on this webpage, took me here. And here I sat for four days, just following nature and being part of it. Nothing to do, nothing to say, just to sit and be.
I look forward to come back here and to include you in what will be the next step for Like the Tide, when time is in for it. When my head has been recovered or is at a state where I can do something for you again.
However. From time to time, if I feel like it, I will be sharing about my personal journeys for the research of this project on the Social media platform Cara, for artist' where all art it made by humans.
You can follow along on Cara here.
Until then, I need to take on my own oxygen mask in order to continue developing this project and pursue my dreams of making inspirational low stimuli, sensory environments for you.
Much gratitude
