Mirror World, 24'

What started out as a task of re-painting someone else's painting, ended up as the journey of slowly transmuting my process of using aquarelle as my main thing to working more with acrylics. And instead of making a replica, I instead turned that painting into my own - the only thing I re-used was the idea of a mirror and a source of light hanging down.
The mirror world has changed it's look about 3-5 times, the background of the main world 2-3 and because of the surface being bumpy, all the former colors comes through the cracks and brings more life to the final image

Ink Sketch "LIFE" 24'
Mixed Media "LIFE" 25' still in process

This is the only sketch I have transformed into a canvas - as I normally paint intuitively.
The final canvas is 80x100cm and started out with an abstract background, on a re-used canvas bringing different dimensions into the image. Then adding the acrylics and oil sticks. Adding a few more elements in which you might be able to spot in some of my other works.
Both the painting and sketch will be shown at the exhibition.

I like using water in my art, playing around with the unknown as I, at the same time, paint intuitively only. This was made a day where I felt like protecting myself before going out of the door, as a mix of a shield vs. protecting layer in order for me to stay firm on my ground, my beliefs and boundaries.
You can call it a self portrait or a general portrait of a being, nor human, nor tree or mythical creature, just something connected to everything and yet, in it's own. The roots creates worlds, vulva's, creation and life. The aura also resembles the sun which for me, is the source of blossoming. It also looks like a placenta, as creating new worlds - meaning new ways of meeting your days, challenging yourself to grow instead of stagnation. The wings are not damaged, but slowly growing out in order to fly, not away but freely out of curiosity.
This image for me is the image of life.

Where it All Begins, 23'

Acrylic Painting on canvas 65x100

It started with me painting the ocean. Then it felt like I needed to turn it upside down, make a new beginning and so it became the sky of the place where everything begins. A place where worlds, realities and life gets created. Not in the uterus, ocean of dreamworld, but just here.
Again we see one of the creatures, looking down at the creation yet to be. Looking like a mix of jellyfish to planets or sperm looking for the uterus.
The Japanese blossoming tree came our as the last thing as the tree actually started out being dead! Before finishing, my hands automatically grabbed the paint, made some pink and white and started making the tree blossoming and becoming alive, as I just before, had made those planets appearing. As if the painting was brought to life.
The egg to the right started out as a stone and then slowly changed it's rhythm. At a point it was painted as a portal but as the creature looked down, I wanted the portal to create things to look at, not hidden portals behind the back, creeping up on you. However, some strange light is shown around that egg as the sun in the background. Maybe the egg comes from the egg trees in which you might find at the exhibition.
